Who wants to be sat indoors when the sun is shining? We are bringing you our selection of the hippest rooftop bars worldwide so that you can enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and a good drink this summer.

Radio Rooftop Bar at ME Hotel - London

Foster + Partners designed glassy symmetrical Radio Rooftop Bar high above the Strand has secured its status as one of central London’s prime rooftop drinking destinations.

Roofnic - London

A brand-new rooftop bar for 2015, Roofnic offers sanctuary away from the Oxford Street rush. It’s got great tunes, fake grass and a slick white canopy for shelter from inevitable downpours. We have a feeling Roofnic could be pretty popular this summer.

Rumpus Room, Mondrian Hotel - London

The new Southbank favourite - with dramatic views of London, Rumpus Room comes alive as the sun goes down; a magical glittering glass box perched atop Mondrian. Enjoy the  stylish 1920s decor and the selection of bubbly and champagne-based cocktails.

Sky Bar, Grand Hotel Central - Barcelona

The best views of Barcelona - don't miss the sunset ! Enjoy drinks or dinner in the company of great music from the resident DJ. Don't miss out the pastries by the esteemed chef Mey Hofmann.

Visit Up, Hotel Pulitzer - Barcelona

Just around the corner from Grand Hotel Central, Visit Up is an intimate, Balinese-inspired rooftop planted with bamboo, bird-of-paradise flowers and olive trees. Aim for a seat at the central island table. Often invites guest spinners to play alongside resident DJ Borja Male.

La Terrazza, Continentale Hotel - Florence

Perched atop a 13th-century medieval tower, La Terrazza is the rooftop bar at the Continentale hotel, and has undergone a redesign at the hands of Florentine architect Michele Bonan, who used 1950s Italian cinema as his inspiration for the super-chic makeover. The views over Ponte Vecchio surely must be on the Florence shortlist - particularly for the list of 'those accessible while sipping an ice-cold dry martini cocktail'.

Mammilla Hotel - Jerusalem

High above the city, the Rooftop Outdoor Lounge embraces the fresh Jerusalem breeze, while offering a magnificent view of the Old City Walls.

Pod 39 - Murray Hill, NYC

This space is straight-up romantic: English ivy climbs around original brick archways, terra cotta columns, cafe lights... swing by at sunset to watch the sun sink behind the Empire State building.

La Piscine, Hotel Americano - Chelsea, NYC

A small lap pool on the deck of the hotel’s 10th-floor setback gives the outdoor dining area its name. It overlooks the High Line, with views of the Hudson River and the Empire State Building. Dishes have Greek and Mediterranean flavors; here’s also a grill where fish, lamb chops, cheeseburgers, chicken and steak are seared.
